The mission of Wilshire Avenue Kids Care is to reach out to the local community by meeting a basic need for after school and summer childcare. WA Kids Care is a Christian-based ministry operated by Wilshire Avenue Community Church to serve the families of the Fullerton School District and the surrounding area. The program is designed to create a fun, nurturing, and loving environment where children can interact safely with each other, learn teamwork, develop social skills and self-confidence, get homework help, and learn a little more about God.
Our vision of Kids Care is to provide a program where our staff is attentive to each child’s unique personality and needs, creating an experience that is more than “just day care.” We provide many different types of activities to help kids express themselves through different outlets such as sports, organized games, crafts, puzzles, and various group activities. For those who have homework, extra help is provided to ensure that, not only is he or she completing his or her homework, but that he or she has an understanding of the work. We encourage all kids to do their absolute best in any activity they engage in and to explore their own character, unique qualities, community, and world around them.
It is a priority for us that your child is not only safe, but that they are excited to come back the following day.
Age-appropriate academic support for homework as well as enrichment activities in a safe and engaging learning environment.
Experiences that encourage social, spiritual, cognitive, physical, and emotional growth.
Awareness of good nutrition and fitness as well as good safety practices.
A caring and attentive staff to interact with students in group and individual settings.
